Cemetery across street from Wilkerson Restaurant. Cemetery is on land of former Wilkerson William S.
Wilkerson was born January 1836 and it is known that he build his home on 169 acre farm in what was called Wilkerson, Va. later called Potomac Beach and is where he raised his children with his wife Ann. William built a country store at the foot of the hill. In front of the store was a large sign reading W.S. Wilkerson. The second floor was a rooming house. Mr. Wilkerson later built a hotel next to his home on the hill. They called this first hotel Cedarview. The family cemetery is located at the top of hill behind where his former home, hotel and store once were.
