Here are just a few interesting facts about our Church History:
The first church building was later converted to a school house, known as Bethany Academy, and was about a mile southwest from our current site.
A new church sanctuary was dedicated in 1852, and it has remained to this date.
In 1947 and 1948 the sanctuary was renovated and beautified, and a Sunday School addition and Assembly hall were erected.
In 1980 the sanctuary underwent a total reconstruction. In 1986 a new nursery and Sunday School facilities were added. Over the last few years we have once again renovated the sanctuary and Fellowship Hall, kitchen and several Sunday School rooms.
Bethany has a long history of having students from Columbia Seminary to preach and perform pastoral duties, including to our youth.
This church as had one member become a U.S. Congressman, L.F. Livingston, and one member who was ordained a Minister of Word and Sacrament, Dr. Charles King.
