As you drive up to the cemetery this is the first sign that you come to that is actually at the cemetery.

Following information provided by Julie Turner, clerk for Adams Township Board

This cemetery is taken care of in part by the Adams Township Trustees. At one time, this stump and cross was a beautiful and very tall cedar tree. It was beginning to die. In 2000, to save the township and the cemetery association money, two of the Township Trustees, Jim Turner and Steve Cochran, began to carefully cut the tree down. A large stump was left purposely. Later, after the stump had dried and cured, Steve Cochran carved this beautiful cross with his chainsaw as a lasting memorial to the cemetery and to the beautiful tree that had once so majestically shaded the site for so many years. Steve Cochran has been a loyal and dedicated member of the Adams Township Board of Trustees for over 15 years.
