NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. — Reverend Daniel Lee Cornwell, age 69, of North Tazewell, Va., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of Tazewell, Va. and was the pastor of Grace Full Gospel Church.

Born November 26, 1942 in Tazewell, Va., he was a son of the late Jacob P. Cornwell and Alberta Cornwell. Daniel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a great man of God. His passion was delivering the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Reverend Cornwell began his ministry in 1976 and was the former pastor at the Boissevain Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Tazewell Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a retired employee of Coca Cola Bottling Company; also a bus driver for the Tazewell County School System.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Mitchell.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of fifty-one years, Carol Brown Cornwell; one sister, Edith Kitts and husband, Bill of Tazewell, Va.; one brother, Mike Cornwell and wife, Sandy of Thompson Valley, Va.; two sons, Bernard Cornwell and wife, Kay, and Scott Cornwell all of Tazewell, Va.; eight grandchildren, Nicci Bragg and husband, Jaysun, Nathan Cornwell and Alicia Comer, Zach Cornwell and wife, Nikki, Lindsey Perkins, and Brandon Perkins; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Aiden, Chance, Jayden and Avery.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with David Lambert and Daniel's son the Reverend Bernard K. Cornwell officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Pallbearers will be Nathan Cornwell, Brandon Perkins, Zach Cornwell, Jaysun Bragg, George Kitts, Billy Kitts, Nicci Bragg, and Lindsey Perkins.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012.
