On June 26, 1959 Ron was united in marriage with Lucille Joan Vande Voort near Killduff, Iowa. To this union five sons were born: Michael, Murray, James, Joel, and Justin.
The family lived in Jasper County, Shenandoah, and North Carolina before moving to the Pella area. Ron was employed at the Farmers Coop as a mechanic in Sully and Waukee for sixteen years. He retired September 28, 1995.
Ron was a Staff Sergeant of the Army National Guard, serving from 1956 to 1974. He was a current member of the Heartland Reformed Church in Pella. He served as elder, deacon, Sunday School teacher, and was a choir member. Ron was also a member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed watching and attending sporting events.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Lucille; five sons; eleven grandchildren; two brothers: Harris (Darlene) Vos of Newton, Jerry (LaVonne) Vos of Monroe; two sisters: Linda (Gene) Vos of Pella, Louise (Ed) Conover of Trout Run, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Lorena Vos of Pella; and brother-in-law, Will Stallinga of Pella.
Preceding him in death are: his parents; parents-in-law; his sister, Lois Stalling; and brother, Kenneth Vos.
