Lorene Anna Lewis
COFFEYVILLE - Lorene Anna Lewis, 76, died March 05, 1997, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born OCT 11 1920, at Cordell, Okalhoma, the daughter of James Paul and Bessie Ann Hill Pitzer. A 1939 gradute of Hutchinson High School, formerly of Coffeyville and Wann, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Keystone Sunday class, a former 4-H leader, 50-year member of the Loyal Workers Home Demonstration Unit, field director for National Campers and Hikers for 21 years, and a member of Family Campers & RVs and Good Sam Camping Club.
On July 20, 1940 she married Glen W. Lewis at Hutchinson, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include: three sons, Jim, Coffeyville, Don Neodesha, and Gerald of Gilbert, Ariz.; two daughters, Phyllis Beeson, and Judy Pool, both of Coffeyville; four brothers, Jim and Clarence Pitzer both of Hutchinson,Kansas, Phillip Pitzer, Maize, Kansas and Kenneth Pitzer, of California; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Pearl Grant, and a brother John Pitzer. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville. Friends may call today from 9 a.m. to service time at the church. The family will be meeting at 3215 West 8th St. in Coffeyville. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville. Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association in care of Ford-Wulf-Burns Funeral Service in Coffeyville.
