Betty J. Wilson, 86, of St. Marys, W.Va., passed away on Jan. 12, 2013, at The Heritage Assisted Living in St. Marys, W.Va.

Betty was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., on Jan. 31, 1926, a daughter of the late Earl and Ruth Wolfe.

Betty was a 1944 graduate of Parkersburg High School. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who made family gatherings special. She was a homemaker who enjoyed interior decorating. Betty volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital for 35 years. She was a member of St. Marys Presbyterian Church and the Mariners Class. Family beach vacations were her very favorite getaways. Throughout the years, she was an avid sports fan.

She is survived by her two sons, Denny (Patti) Wilson of Vienna, W.Va., and Joe (Mindy) Wilson of Parkersburg, W.Va.; granddaughter, Laura Lea Wilson of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and many loving nieces and nephews survive her as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 55 years, Dr. Denver G. Wilson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va., with the Rev. Michael Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family wishes to express appreciation to The Heritage Assisted Living in St. Marys, W.Va., and Housecalls Hospice, for their kind attention and care.

The family requests that donations be made to The St. Marys Presbyterian Church, 303 Washington St., St. Marys, WV 26170, in Betty's memory.
