Anna Annie M. Weigel was born August 3, 1867 in New Buffalo, Michigan, to Henry C. Weigel, Jr. and Caroline Sangbush Weigel of Germany and Michigan. Her father was a carpenter. She met and married James Somerville Gillespie, June 1892 in Chicago, IL. Annie and James were married for 45 years before James's death in 1937. They had three children: son, Fredrick and daughters, Frances and Jean. Anna spent the rest of her life in Chicago and died at the age of 90, June, 1958.
