ALFRED BIRR

Alfred A. Birr, 76, of 2110 School Street, Two Rivers, died Tuesday evening, September 5, 1989 at Two Rivers Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 am Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Rev. Donald Marquardt will officiate with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum.

Mr. Birr was born May 31, 1913 at Morgan, Wisconsin, son of the late Albert and Helen Pagel Birr.

He married the former Cecilia B. Witczak on July 13, 1935 at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death in 1982.

Mr. Birr was employed for 47 years at Mirro Corporation, retiring in 1975. Alfred’s life was centered around music. He was a member of Musician’s Union and played the accordian for weddings, anniversaries and Senior Citizens functions. He was a member of several Senior Citizens groups, member of Silver K Kiwanis club, Knights of Columbus and ushered many years at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sandra Birr of Green Bay; a daughter, Sister Doloria CSSF of Blue Island, Illinois; a brother, Willard Birr of Two Rivers; a sister and brother-in-law, Leona and Claude Hanes of Two Rivers; two grandchildren, Lori and Christopher Birr of Green Bay and a devoted friend, Lillian Bushman of Two Rivers.

Friends may call at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, 5 pm to 8 pm Thursday. Parish Memorial Service will be held at 7 pm. Knights of Columbus will meet for the Memorial Service
