Margaret was the oldest of two daughters born to James Rezzie and Edith (Cotner) Caviness. She married Ralph Branson Marley in 1943 and they were the parents of seven children: Margaret Katrine, Edith Ellen, Ruby Sharon, James Branson, Belinda D., Timothy Moran and Melody Vickrey.

PLEASANT GARDEN Mrs. Margaret Caviness Marley, 75, of 616 Hodgin Valley Road, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at her residence.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Centre Friends Meeting, with the Rev. Rusty Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the Meeting cemetery.

Mrs. Marley was a native of Guilford County and was a lifelong resident of pleasant Garden. She was an active member of Centre Friends Meeting and was a member of the Womens Circle Number 1. She was a former school bus driver with Guilford County Schools.

Surviving are husband, Branson Marley; children, Katrine East, Edith (Dicky) Routh, Sharon Marley, James (Lynne) Marley, Belinda Marley, Timothy (Donna) Marley and Melody Marley; mother, Edith Caviness; sister, Maxine Larkin; grandchildren, Travis East, Derek East, Glenna (Darrell) Kidd, Paul Routh, Stephen (Sherry) Marley, James (Trish) Marley, Jason Marley, Zachary Marley, Caleb Marley and Noah Marley; great-grandchildren, Madison Marley and Jacob Kidd.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at the Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty.

Memorials may be made to Centre Friends Meeting, Cemetery Fund or Historical Fund, 325 NC 62 Highway, Greensboro, N.C. 27406.
