Elroy W. "Al" Draheim, age 91, formerly of Two Rivers, of 4920 Benley Court #5, Manitowoc, died on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Manitowoc County Health Care Center, Manitowoc.
Al was born on April 16, 1917, in the town of Eaton, son of the late Richard and Elfrieda (Gierke) Draheim. On Aug. 21, 1943, he married the former Olive Sprang at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Collins. Al worked for Wisconsin Public Service until his retirement in 1979. Al was active in the Lutheran Men's Club, bowling, church usher, Mishicot Senior Citizens and the Silver Kiwanis. He loved woodworking, especially making things for his children and grandchildren. "Grandpa can fix anything." Al also enjoyed playing sheepshead with friends, loved traveling and spent many winters in Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law; granddaughter: Lindsey Draheim; two brothers: Elmer and Wilbur Draheim; a sister-in-law: Margie Draheim; and three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: John and Alice Wiese; Harold and Ethel Sprang; and Harvey and Millie Sprang.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Mishicot. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Robert Johannes, with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Visitation will continue on Monday, April 28, 2008, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Mishicot, from 9 to 11 a.m.
In Lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials to be donated in Elroy's name to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Mishicot. The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers, is assisting the Draheim family with funeral arrangements.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center; Dr. De Bruyn; and Amy Schleunes, for their compassionate care of Elroy.
