Albertha K. Tienor, age 90, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 22, 2004 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.
Albertha was born Sept. 15, 1914 in the Town of Franklin, daughter of the late Albert and Katie (Naidl) Jung. On June 15, 1944, she married Arnold Tienor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1991. Albertha and her husband farmed in the town of Cato for many years retiring to the village of Valders. Albertha enjoyed gardening, baking and making hot pads. She was a member of the Valders Senior Center, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, St. Mary's Christian Mothers and Faith Lutheran Quilters.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law: Donald and Mardell tienor, Valders; David and Kathie Tienor, Valders; Paul and Gladys Tienor, Reedsville; Daniel and Elisabeth Tienor, Manitowoc; four daughters and sons-in-law: Delores and Dennis Basken, Manitowoc; Janet and Jim Wadzinske, Manitowoc; Mary and Jim LaFond, Two Rivers; Eleanor and Gregory Matczynski, Manitowoc; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Eleanor and Adolph Duchow, Chilton; Lorraine and Emil Duchow, Chilton; two brothers-in-law: Emil Tienor and his wife, Florence, Brillion; Victor Koerner, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law: Gladys Tienor, Manitowoc; Mabel Tienor, Reedsville; 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004 at St. Mary Catholic church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. James Jugenheimer with burial to follow at St. Mary Catholic church, Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends Friday, Sept. 24, 2004 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Christiansen & Deja Funeral Home, Valders. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. led by Deacon Tom Koch. The visitation will continue Saturday morning at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. Christiansen & Deja Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Valders, is assisting the Tienor family with funeral arrangements.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Laurel Grove, Shady Lane, Sherry Glandt and Dr. Govier for the care and compassion they extended to Albertha over the years.
