Leonard J. Tienor, age 79, of rural Reedsville, died unexpectedly early Saturday morning, June 7, 1997, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Father John Conrad will officiate with burial to follow at St. Mary's Church Cemetery.
He was born September 15, 1917 in the Town of Cato, son of the late Joseph and Katherine Knier Tienor. He was a graduate of St. Mary's School and a lifelong resident of the town of Cato, where he farmed for many years. He married the former Mable Hunsader July 20, 1946, at Holy Innocents Catholic church, Manitowoc. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1996. Leonard was a member of St. Mary's Holy Name Society and the Valders Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife, Mable; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Susan of Eau Claire, John of rural Valders, Thomas and Jean of rural Reedsville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Margaret Kenney, Bradington, Fla., Carol and Thomas L. Steinberg, Manitowoc, Helen and Gregory Satori, Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law, Emil and Florence Tienor, Brillion; one sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Victor Koerner, Manitowoc; 17 grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Ann and Pauline; two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, on Tuesday, June 10, 1997, from 5 -8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
Leonard greatly enjoyed the outdoors, farming, gardening, hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed by his family and grandchildren.
