Carol Mae Schlussler passed away at her home in Grass Valley on March 19, 2013, at the age of 87. Carol is survived by her loving husband, Chuck of 61 years. They were married in Tucson, AZ on Nov. 29. They resided for more than 40 years in Wheatland.
Carol is lovingly remembered by her son, Michael(Inge) of Wheatland, daughter, Vicki (Mike) Booen of Tucson, son, Gary (Jania) of Grass Valley, son, Jon (Rebecca) of Elk Grove, 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Bessie Mae Robb, her brother, Vernon Robb; sister, Beth Strassburg; and son Keith (Julie) Schlussler.
Carol was born in Randolph, Nebraska. She graduated as valedictorian from Hanska High School in Minnesota in 1944. She worked as a secretary for Civil Engineering at Beale AFB and retired as a secretary at McClellan AFB.
Although Carol enjoyed many hobbies, her favorite life-long loves were reading books and reciting poetry. In addition, she and Chuck were also very active campers with the Bedouins Shrine Club and very active in the Ben Ali Drum and Bugle Corps, frequently cooking and baking for large activities. Everyone loved her desserts, especially her Choclate Cake.
