Helen Wilson Brown, age 92 years, 7 months, 14 days, a lifelong Yale area resident, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at MediLodge of Yale. She is the daughter of Frank and Hattie (Donnenworth) Wilson born September 6, 1920 in Fremont Township, Sanilac County.

Helen and Keith Brown were united in marriage October 27, 1945 in Fremont Township. Keith, a retired rural mail carrier, passed away May 20, 1989.

Helen was a very active member of Yale United Methodist Church. She acted in a leadership role for the Women's Society and for many years prepared meals for the Yale Business Men's Association. She and Keith served as custodians for the church as well.

Helen was known in the community as a wonderful cook and baker. Her pies and cookies were famous in Yale. She was a valued receptionist employee of Kaatz Funeral Directors for 36 years and retired in 2005.

Visitation for family and friends of Helen will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Pastor Nate Polzin, grandson-in-law, will officiate.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Yale United Methodist Church or Yale Public Library.
