Private, Company G, 358th Infantry, 90th Division. Son of William and Martha Reed. 410 days in service; 7 days in the trenches; one day in major offensive. Wounded at battle of St. Mihiel, September 12, 1918; discharged June 12, 1919.

WATAGA - Guy E Reed, 73, of near Wataga died Sunday at 3:25 PM at Cottage Hospital where he was a patient one day.
He was born February 7, 1895 in Henderson Township, Knox County. He farmed in the Henderson and Woodhull communities until his recent retirement in 1962. He was a member of the Henderson United Brethren Church, where he served as a trustee, and was a World War I veteran.
On February 14, 1923, he married Zola Morgan at Galesburg. She survives with three sons, Dewey R of Kirkland, IN, Dale E of Woodhull and Lee W of Oquawka; a daughter, Mrs. Dean (Fern) Saline of Dahinda; two brothers, Ralph of Galesburg and William of Abingdon; two sisters, Mrs. Janie Stegall of Monmouth and Miss Laura Reed of Pekin, and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 PM at Hinchliff and Pearson Funeral Chapel where visitation will be Tuesday evening. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to the Henderson United Brethren Church or the American Cancer Society, the family said.

WATAGA - Funeral services for Guy E Reed, 73, of near Wataga were today at 2 PM at Hinchliff and Pearson Chapel. He died Sunday.
Rev Herbert Willer, pastor of the Henderson Evangelical United Breathren Church, officiated. Mrs. Roy H Pearson Jr was organist.
Pallbearers were John Lindberg, Harvey Smith, Gene A Nelson, Allen Freeberg, Robert Bell and Eldon Newman. Burial was in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
