A memorial service for Kenneth Bishop of Hobbs, N.M., will be 10 a.m.
Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at Vista Point Baptist Church
with pastor Chris Barnett officiating.
Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park
Visitation is 1-5 p.m. Monday,
a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday and 8-
8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel
of Hope Funeral Home. The
family will greet friends 5-7
p.m. Tuesday.
Arrangements are under the
direction of Chapel of Hope
Funeral Home.
Mr. Bishop, 61, died
Thursday, June 30, 2005, at
Veterans Affairs Hospital in
Albuquerque, N.M. He was
born Oct. 9, 1943, in St. Smith,
Ark.
He married Sidney Love
Bishop on Jan. 7, 1962, in
Stillwell, Okla.
Kenneth proudly served in
the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. He
was in the Lebanaon and
Cuban conflicts. Kenneth
served in the Navy for 26 years.
He was employed as a mechanic
for BJ Services for 13 years.
He was an avid golfer and
enjoyed working in his yard.
He was a member of Vista
Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Sidney Bishop of the home;
two daughters, Dea Jones and
husband Stewart of Elgin,
S.C., and Pia Germany and
husband Todde of Hobbs,
N.M.; a brother, Herbert L.
Bishop of Ft. Smith, Ark.; two
sisters, Margaret Forster and
Imogene Molina, both of alma,
Ark.; a sister-in-law, Necia
Asbill and husband David of
Hobbs, N.M.; and special
friends Jerry and Becky
Carlisle of Cisco, Texas;
Kenneth was preceded in
death by his parents, Leo and
Laura Bishop Sr., and six
brothers.
Memorial contributions may
be made to the American
Cancer Society.
