BARNEY LINNENKAMP, 84, died in Santa Ana, California on March 22, 1966. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 25 with a requiem Mass in St. Joseph Catholic church, Santa Ana. Interment followed the services in Holy Cross cemetery, Baldwin Hills, California.
Mr. Linnenkamp was born November 2, 1881 in Harper, the son of Henry and Mary Linnenkamp. His early life was spent in that community. On October 15, 1907 he was married to Caroline Vogel at St. Peter and Paul church, Clear Creek.
They farmed in the Harper community for two years, moving then to a farm five miles northwest of Delta, then known as the Billy Schisler farm. Three years later they moved to a farm near Delta known as the George Foster farm. They farmed there until 1936 when they moved to Cedar Rapids, where they lived until going to California in 1944.
Mrs. Caroline Linnenkamp preceded him in death in September, 1948; also a son Byron Linnenkamp, March 30, 1962. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, John, Jake, Joe and Peter, all of the Harper community, and three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Ludwig, Spokane, Washington, Mrs. Anna Klietz, Richfield, Missouri and Sister M. Carton, LaCross, Wisconsin.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bernice Bogue, Tustin, California, whose husband passed away in October 1960, Mrs. LaNore DeSilva, also of Tustin, and Mrs. Katherine Manville of Garden Grove, California, whose husband passed away December 5, 1959. One brother, Ferd Linnenkamp of Harper, also survives. Also 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
