Had been with T/C/I/ for many years. Funeral at Fairfield Methodist Church. Survived by his widow, Mrs. Nellie Echols; 2 sons: G.A. and C.W. Echols; a daughter Mrs. Carl C. Brown; 2 brothers, M.R. and W.W. Echols; 3 sisters Mrs. W.P. Morgan, Mrs. A.S. Franklin & Mrs. John Hutto; 3 gr-children. Buried Elmwood. (Birmingham News, 31 Dec 1949)
