Actress. Born Mary Brooks in Mount Shasta, California, she began appearing in a traveling stock theater group after graduating high school and made her screen debut in "The Indian Maiden's Lesson" (1911). During the silent film era she was a prolific performer in movies to include "Lightning Bryce" (1919), "The Roaring Road" (1919), "Excuse My Dust" (1920), "The Cradle of Courage" (1921) and "The Greatest Menace" (1923). After retiring from films she managed the popular Los Angeles hotel, the Chateau Marmont on the Sunset Strip. She died in Los Angeles, California, at age 93. Her grave has no marker.
