Cathryn Anne Mickelson, 83, Jamestown, North Dakota, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Mrs. Mickelson was born June 20, 1925 at Fargo, North Dakota, the daughter of Youart and Erma (Sherman) Fletcher. She grew up at Courtenay, ND and attended the Corinne and Courtenay schools.

Cathryn married LeRoy Mickelson on March 18, 1942 in Jamestown. They farmed at Courtenay, then moved to Woodworth and later to Jamestown where she resided until her death.

She enjoyed family activities, gardening, crocheting, horseback riding, visiting nursing homes, visiting the homebound, also traveling and visiting friends. Mrs. Mickelson was a 4-H & Cub Scout leader, also the VFW Jr. Girl unit. She served as president of the VFW, Eagles, DAV.

Cathryn was employed by the ND State Hospital for over 30 years. She was a Stephen Minister for the Presbyterian church and enjoyed Bible study and prayer groups.

Cathryn is survived by four daughters, Joyce (Larry) Hennings, Arlington, TX, Sheila Solberg, Sherry (Alex) Musgrave and Jean (Mark) Deery, all of Jamestown; seven sons, LeRoy Jr. (Teri Jo), Mandan, ND, Rickie (Valerie), Terry, Brant, Miles, Wayne (Ronnie), and Joel (Kirstin), all of Jamestown; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan "Arleen" (Duane) Carlson, Jamestown and Corinne (DeWayne) Kolness, Wauban, MN; three brothers, Richard (Vera) Fletcher, Courtenay, ND, Arthur (Delores) Fletcher, Mora, MN and Allen (Nancy) Fletcher, Jamestown; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Fletcher, Valley City, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, two brothers, two granddaughters, one grandson and one great-grandson.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
