He was the principal figure in the Soaring Society of America Youth Committee and the USA Junior Soaring Team, participating in world competitions. Creator and executive director of the Collegiate Soaring Association. Developer of Cumulus Courseware to aid in the instruction of gliding. He was a long time instructor and pilot at Mile High Gliding in Boulder, CO.
