Solomon Belasco was known as "Sollie" to his family and many friends. He was also the brother of legendary New York producer David Belasco.

His wife was the former Augusta Levy of New York. They were married on February 22, 1893. Their 3 children were Reyna (born 1895), Myrtle (born 1897), and Freddie (born 1904). Solomon was a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office for many years.

He survived the 1906 earthquake and was a stockholder for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, which he attended with his family. He took over 260 photos at the fair during his 14 visits.

He retired in 1931 after 42 years of service and was given a gold watch as a retirement gift.
