"Peter Shimek, age 89, a former Rockwood resident, died Wednesday afternoon at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient three years.
"Mr. Shimek was born 24 June 1880, in Town of Franklin, son of the late Matt & Anna (Herlik) Shimek. He married Catherine Muench on 29 January 1906, and the couple lived at Rockwood, WI.
"He had been employed many years by Rockwood Lime Company and later by Lakeside Packing Company, retiring 15 years ago. His wife died in December of 1950. Mr. Shimek was the last survivor of a family of 11. Seven brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
"Surviving him are four daughters, Mrs. Phyliss Braun of Manitowoc, Mrs. Jerome (Anna) Hutterer, of Rockwood, Mrs. John (Agnes) Havlovitz, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, and Mrs. Clarence (Dorothy) Hutterer, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, a son, Leonard Shimek, of Manitowc, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren."
