Muncie – Mary R. Oxley, 83, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, at I. U. Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Mary was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 16, 1931, the daughter of Clary Lee and Lucy (Craig) Arrington. She attended Wilson School.
Mrs. Oxley worked as a Custodian at Ball State University for 18 years until her retirement. She worked later at Mac's Restaurant for 14 years until she left in 2013. Mary was a former member of Eagles Lodge #231.
Survivors include her daughter, Pauline Thomas, Anderson; a sister, Helen Enzmann, Michigan; six grandchildren, Tara Smith, (husband-John), Converse, Kristin Thomas, (husband-Jason), Alexandria, Amy Stanley, Anderson, Judy Oxley, Michigan, Stacy Ward, Michigan, and Angel Pryor, Seymour; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; a special friend, Sue Maggard, Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Orville Leon Oxley; a son, Ronald L. Oxley; a daughter, Lou Ann Cox; four brothers; and one sister.
