Frank J. Kosak, age 81 of 947 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, passed away April 10, 1999 at Door County Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was born May 17, 1917 in Sturgeon Bay to the late Frank and Lena (Long) Kosak, Sr. and lived in this area most of his life. Frank was a member of the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church; the American Legion and the Amvets. For more than 20 years, Frank played Taps at Veteran's funerals throughout Door County, having participated in several hundred services. He was a veteran of the United States Army in World War II. He retired from the Door County Highway Department
Survivors include five children: Marlene (Jerry) Efstathion of Florida; Clessie (Steve) Blasier; Ernest Kosak; Bonnie Hensel and Joseph (Celestia) Kosak, all of Sturgeon Bay, WI; three grandchildren: Carrie Ann Efstathion, Jayne Marie Blasier and Michael David Hensel; two sisters: Cecelia Maples and Elizabeth Kosak and one brother Arnold Kosak of Green Bay, WI.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Violet (nee Krueger) and a sister.
Funeral services at 1 pm April 14th at the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church and burial in Bayside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Davis Mortuary 4 to 8 pm Tuesday with military services at the mortuary at 6:15 pm.
