LARUE: Mae Blankenship, age 86, of LaRue, Ohio, passed away at her residence on Thursday August 7, 2014.

She was born August 2, 1928 in Harlan County, Ky. to the late Harry and Betty Creech Ball. On July 4, 1953 in Angola, Ind. she married Orval L. Blankenship and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1991. Mae was a person even at her age who was still very active. She was quite a gardener in her younger years and still loved taking care of her yard. She also still shoveled her own driveway in the winter months. Mae was a cat lover and just loved her cat.

Mae leaves behind a son and five grandchildren: Gary (Lisa) Blankenship of Findlay, Ohio, Benjamin (Leanne) Blankenship, Bridget (Kevin) Dixon, Wayne (Theresa) Blankenship, Sarah (Justin) Millhouse, and Sonya Blankenship. Eight great grandchildren also survive.

Besides her parents and her husband, Mae was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Blankenship; a granddaughter, Brandy Blankenship; one sister; and three brothers.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday August 13, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home in Marion, Ohio. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chris Stewart. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 A.M.
