MARLYN KROEGER

Marlyn “Hans” Kroeger, age 82, currently of 1523 16th Street, Two Rivers River House, formerly of Lancer Circle, Manitowoc, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Marlyn was born Oct. 30, 1928, to the late George and Aurelia (Siewert) Kroeger in Two Rivers. He graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School with the class of 1946. On Sept. 10, 1949, he married Elaine Riha in Two Rivers. He worked at Holiday House, Manitowoc, as a training maintenance supervisor. Marlyn was a member of the Free Anticipated Masons No. 65 for more than 30 years, was an active member at Grace Congregational Church and served as a head usher for many years. In his retirement year he volunteered at Aurora Medical Center, and he also enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture.

Marlyn is survived by his wife: Elaine, Two Rivers; one son and daughter-in-law: Dean (Mary) Kroeger, Two Rivers; two daughters and two sons-in-law: Dee (Jeff) Davis, Wausau, Diane (Gary) Eigenberger, Green Bay; five grandchildren: Carmen (John) Lombard, Madison, Kimberly Davis, Lexington, Va., Chandra Eigenberger, Green Bay, Lisa Kroeger, Two Rivers, and Kevin Kroeger, Two Rivers; one great-grandson: Davis Lombard, Madison; one brother-in-law: Eldon (Alice) Riha, Two Rivers; and one sister-in-law: Shirley Riha, Kiel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Marlyn was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Merlin Riha; two sisters-in-law: Gladys (Louie) Young, and Viola (John) Marek, as well as other relatives.

Funeral service for Marlyn will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Grace Congregational Church UCC. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Kim Henning. Marlyn will be laid to rest at Knollwood Mausoleum immediately following the service.

Family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, April 18, 2011, at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, from 4 to 7 p.m. Visitation for Marlyn will continue Tuesday at Grace Congregational Church, UCC, from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials to be given in Marlyn’s name to Grace Congregational Church, or the Manitowoc County Human Society.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora ICU for their compassionate care given to Marlyn. A special thank you to the Rev. Kim Henning for his support and guidance.

The Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
