GEORGE BENTLEY

George F. Bentley, 83, formerly of 1912 29th St., Two Rivers, died Wednesday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital where he had been a patient a month. Funeral services will be at 9:15 am Friday at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc and 10 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The Rev. John K. Mueller will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Bentley was born April 9, 1883 at Manitowoc, son of the late Gebhart and Emma Betholtz Bentley. He attended Manitowoc schools and moved to Two Rivers when he was 17. He had been employed 38 years as a cabinet maker by Hamilton Mfg. Co., Two Rivers, and had also worked several years for White Cap Brewery, Two Rivers and Rahr Malting co., Manitowoc.

He married Mary Schaf at Manitowoc April 28, 1906 and the couple resided at Manitowoc, observing the golden anniversary of the wedding in 1956. Mrs. Bentley died in 1958.

Surviving him are a son, Lester W. Bentley, of Greenwich, Conn.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert W. (Vivian) Fricke Sr., of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Frank Beitzel of Two Rivers; five grandsons and a great grandchild.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 pm Thursday where the Rosary will be recited at 8 pm by members of the Holy Name Society of Holy Redeemer Church, of which he was a member and Daughters of Isabella.
