FLORENCE BRANDL

Florence L. Brandl, age 83, who resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Delray Beach, Fla., died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at Delray Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 14, 1921, in the town of Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late Herman and Julia Eslinger Lorenz. Florence was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, class of 1938. On May 14, 1941, she married Alfred Brandl at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alverno. He preceded her in death Aug. 12, 1994. The couple owned and operated a family farm for many years. She was also employed at Holy Family Convent for 18 years.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Ronald and Ruth Ann Brandl, Earlville, Md.; Steven and Lisa Brandl, rural Reedsville; three daughters and a son-in-law: Janet Rappel, Brillion: Mary Jane Lukes, Manitowoc; Yvonne and Bill Babb, Delray Beach, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister: Mabel Junk, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Ida Heinzen, Florence and Victor Siehr and two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law: Reinhardt Brandl and Walter and Evelyn Brandl, all of Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law: Robert Rappel; three grandchildren: Randy, Michelle and Alex; a brother and sister-in-law: Victor and Mary Lorenz and by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Marvin Junk, Norbert Heinzen, Ed and Auralia Brandl, Kenneth and Lorraine Brandl, Geneva Brandl, Nick and Hilda Schiesl, and Joe Miller.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, until the time of service at 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Gerald Foley with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Florence enjoyed fishing, gardening, flea markets and cooking for family and friends. We would like to give special thanks to Yvonne and her family for the wonderful care and attention given our mother for the last four years while living with their family. The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
