JoAnne (Brandt) Kronberg, age 64, a former Manitowoc resident, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Forsythe Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
She was born on July 13, 1948 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Norman and Dorothy (Wier) Brandt. JoAnne was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1966. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and earned her Masters in Education from Carthage College in Kenosha. She was an educator for more than 24 years the majority of which
were at Ashley Middle School in Winston-Salem, NC. Her passion for educating children was demonstrated by her teaching and supporting programs that benefitted children’s education globally. She was a constant volunteer in her community, her son’s schools and activities in her church. JoAnne was a life long Green Bay Packer fan. She was always expanding her knowledge
and was selected by NOAA to serve in a summer program to conserve marine ecosystems and natural resources in Alaska. JoAnne enjoyed her knitting group and was active at Holy Family Catholic Church of Clemmons, NC where she was a member since 1987. JoAnne truly had a passion to serve others.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Edward & Joanna Kronberg, Columbia, SC, Christopher Kronberg, Newton, NC; a sister and brother-in-law: Mary & Michael Maples, Manitowoc; nieces: Kristin Lamers and Julie Maples; a nephew: Jeff Maples; two great nieces and one great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents: Norman and Dorothy (Wier) Brandt; and her former spouse: Edward Kronberg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier. Entombment of her cremated remains will occur at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 until 10:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA www.aspca.org (American Society for the Preventions of Cruelty to Animals).
