She married George Nelson Cooper on February 28, 1888 in Tallassee, AL at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Rev and Mrs L. C. Calhoun. Hannah gave birth to five children and was a patient, compassionate, and intelligent woman. Her grandfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and two sons were all ministers in the Methodist Episcopal South church.
