Margaret "Peggy" McPherson, 81, of Whitehall, formerly of Baldwin Borough, after a courageous battle passed peacefully surrounded by her family into the presence of her Lord Friday, May 15, 2015. She was the wife of 60 years to the late Samuel L. McPherson; beloved mother of Susan (Chuck) Willis, Sam McPherson Jr., Lynn (and the late John) Calgelia, Tom (Jean) McPherson, David McPherson, Joan (Rob) Hess, Carol (Russ) Westerman and Bob McPherson; adored Gramma of 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; sister of the late Al and James Coghill; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a former school cafeteria worker. She was active in the South Hills Assembly of God's M.O.P.S., Hillcrest Christian Academy, and CommuniTea, where she was lovingly referred to as "Gramma Peggy." She worked the lollipop stand at both the Baldwin and Pleasant Hills Community Days. Peggy loved spending time with her card club girls and faithfully attended the Leland Senior Center. Her greatest passion and devotion was her grandchildren, which inspired her to attend all of their activities and events. Her love and commitment to family and all who knew her is Peggy's lasting legacy. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Abundant Life Ministry Center, 540 Delwar Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 or on their website www.abundantlifeministrycenter.org.
