Violet L. Reichert, 97, of Beardstown, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 5, 2007, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.
She was born April 24, 1910, in rural Adams County, the daughter of Richard and Lydia Krohe Launer. She married Floyd Reichert on Feb. 19, 1933, in Bluff Springs, and he preceded her in death June 6, 1961.
She is survived by one brother, Earl (wife, Dorothy) Launer of Beardstown; and several nieces and nephews, including nephew and caregiver, Donnie Harris of Beardstown. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Gilbert (surviving wife, Fairy of Beardstown), Ralph, Harvey, Marvin and Everett Launer; and two sisters, Ruth Spoon and Ruby Hacker.
Mrs. Reichert was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs. She was previously employed with the Beardstown Hospital for 20 years and Illinois Glove Factory in Beardstown for seven years.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown, with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs.
