Kadow, Carol A.

Carol A. Kadow, age 85, a resident of the Shady Lane Nursing Care Center of Manitowoc, former Mishicot resident, entered into eternal rest Saturday afternoon, October 3, 2015, at Shady Lane.

Carol was born March 12, 1930, in Two Rivers, to the late Thomas and Josephine Schemenkowski Melanson and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of the Washington High School in Two Rivers. Carol married Roger Kadow May 22, 1954, in the rectory of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers and he preceded her in death August 24, 2009. She and her husband owned and operated Kadow Plumbing and Heating in Mishicot for many years. Carol was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, and was a longtime volunteer for the Girl Scouts of America, and also served as a volunteer in many capacity's for the Holy Cross School. She enjoyed going to their cottage at Sand Bay, traveling, and attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren. Carol was an avid card player and enjoyed playing bingo.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Jon Sprang, Kay and John Franz, of Mishicot, one son, Gerald Kadow of Mishicot and his special friend, Lynn Moser, of Manitowoc, 7 grandchildren, Dawn (Benji) Butzin, Holly (Sam) Szekely, Kim (Kraig) Christoffel, Amy (Adam) Weber, Noah Franz and his special friend, Bethany, Samantha (Andy) Mallard, Krista Kadow, 7 great-grandchildren, MaKenna, Broden, Kambrya, Kenley, Audrey, Ava, Asher. She is further survived by two sisters, Joanne Eggers, of Two Rivers; Kathy (Allen) Beranek, of Mishicot; one brother, Theodore (JoAnn) Melanson, of Two Rivers; a sister-in-law: Georgiana Melanson, of Utah; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Pam Kadow, one brother, Richard Melanson, and a brother-in-law, John Eggers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot with the Reverend John Becker officiating with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the church until the time of service at 11 a.m.. The Kadow family would like to express a very special thank you to the entire staff of Shady Lane for the love and special care extended to Carol during her illness. Your kindness will always be remembered. The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the Kadow family with arrangements.
