ANTON BRAUN STRIKEN AS HE RIDES PLOW
End Comes at Home of Neighbor Whom He was Assisting
Anton Braun, well known town of Kossuth pioneer and life-long resident of the County, died suddenly while at the home of a neighbor yesterday, stricken by apoplexy.
In good spirits because his health had apparently improved, Mr. Braun went to the Voelker farm at Branch yesterday to assist with the work of plowing, insisting on riding the sulky plow. He had made two rounds on the field when he suddenly fell from the seat and before aid could reach him was dead as a result of a stroke which he had suffered. It was the third stroke, two others having been suffered within the last two years.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from the home of his son-in-law, Louis Staudinger, Route 6, with services at St. Anne's Catholic Church at Francis Creek at 10 o'clock and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born in the Town of Kossuth, Dec. 23, 1855, Mr. Braun, who has always made his home in the county, would have been seventy-one on his next birthday. He was married to Carrie Klein thirty-one years ago and for a number of years now, the couple have made their home with their son-in-law. Surviving are the widow, three daughters, Mrs. Louis Staudinger, Route 6, Mrs. Julius Lallemont of Green Bay and Mrs. Irwin Buch of this city; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Fetzer Sr., of the Town of Kossuth, Mrs. Frank Neuser and Miss Lena Braun of Francis Creek and one brother, Frank of Manitowoc Rapids.
