ARTHUR KORTENS
(1889 - 1964)
Arthur Kortens, 74, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient two weeks.
Funeral services will be at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. John Haen will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Kortens was born in the Town of Kossuth June 15, 1889, son of the late Edward and Caroline Schwantes Kortens. He married Elsie Wachtel at Two Rivers June 24, 1912. She died July 17, 1960. After marriage the couple owned and operated a farm on Rt. 2, Two Rivers.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Bernice) Novak, of Mishicot and Mrs. Charles (Marian) Mleziva, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, six grandchildren and a great grandchild. A brother, two sisters and a grandchild preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m.
