EMMA ZIMMER
(1875 - 1946)

Mrs. George F. Zimmer, 71, lifelong resident of the county, died this morning of a stroke at the farm home on route 4, Manitowoc, near the village of Manitowoc Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9 o’clock at the St. Pauls Catholic church, the Rev. Martin Jaekels officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Zimmer, nee Emma Kortens, was born in Kossuth in 1875 and 48 years ago was married to Mr. Zimmer. They took up their residence on the present homestead. She was a member of the Christian Mothers of the St. Pauls congregation.

Survivors are the husband; five daughters, Mrs. John Dirkman of Francis Creek, Mrs. Arthur Grimm of Two Rivers, Mr. Edward Heinzen of route 1, Manitowoc, Mrs. George Wellner of route 2, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Raymond Grimm of route 1, Two Rivers; three sons, Reinhard of Two Creeks, Arthur of route 4, Manitowoc, and Leo of this city; two brothers, Albert of this city and Arthur of route 5, Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Clara Bauer of this city; and 28 grandchildren.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home after 7 o’clock tonight, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

CUPID'S DARTS. ZIMMER-KORTENS

Mr. George Zimmer, of Manitowoc Rapids, and Miss Emma Kortens, of the town of Kossuth, were married at St. Boniface church at 9 o'clock this morning.
The ceremony was performed in the presence of a large number of friends and Rev. Father Pell officiated.
The groom is one of the prosperous young farmers of the county while his bride is one of the Kossuth's most charming young ladies.
The happy couple left for Kossuth immediately after the ceremony.
The Herald extends congratulations.

A celebration in honor of the marriage of Geo. Zimmer and Emma Kortens was held at Meyer's hall on the Green Bay road last evening.
A number from this city drove out and report a most enjoyable time with the exception of the "chilly" ride.
Among those in attendance were: Henry Frisch, August Stahl, Al. Stahl, Herman Grabo, Victor Senglaub, Fred Hotz, Henry Nienaber, Louie Rank, P.A. Kornely, Chas. Gelbke and W. Frisch.
