Leo Zimmer, 60, of 430 S. 30th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Duane Dionne will officiate with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Zimmer was born June 14, 1915, at Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late George and Emma Kortens Zimmer. He married Hildegarde Brandl May 9, 1939, at St. Mary Church, Clarks Mills, settling at Manitowoc. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. army. He had been employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. since 1939 and was a member of Boilermakers Union Local 443. He was also a member of St. Paul Mens Club and Untied Commercial Travelers.

Survivors include his wife, a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Zimmer, of Naperville, Ill.; a daughter and son-in-law, Robert and Carol Wiclander, of Houston, Tex.; a brother, Reinhart, of Two Creeks; four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Grimm, of Two Rivers, Mrs. John Dirkman, of Francis Creek, Mrs. Edward Heinzen, of Manitowoc and Mrs. George Wellner, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc and four grandchildren, Tori and Kelly Wicklander and Brian and Lisa Zimmer. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, where a prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m.
