JEAN D. KEUNE
(1925 - 2016)

Jean D. Keune, age 90, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 in Florida.

She was born September 11, 1925 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late John and Eva (Clark) Cain. Jean graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School with the class of 1945. On February 28 1953 she married Carlyle Keune at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2009. Along with her husband, they owned and operated Motel's and Service/Gas stations across Wisconsin and Florida. Jean loved NASCAR, game shows, especially Jeopardy and a good movie now and then. Jean has been around race tracks and enjoyed racing all of her married life. She had a passion for travel but never could do so until her husband passed. Jeans heritage was Irish, and in 2012, she was able to go to Ireland with her nephew, Rick Salta. She had many hobbies, including sewing, crocheting, baking and cooking. She was very close with her sister-in-law, Darlene Salta who both had a talent for cooking and at times competed with each other. Her favorite car, which she owned was a Plymouth Sapporo. Her desire to be in Florida was unspeakable, her nephew Rick took her there, and when we arrived on Friday, January 22, went out to eat and do some shopping, went back to her nieces house where she went to sleep for ever.

Survivors include one daughter: Sandy Ohman; four sisters: Darlene, Jackie, Jill and Bonnie; one brother: Gregg, close niece and nephews: Rick Salta, Valerie Palmer, "Captian" Nick Palmer, sister-in-law: Donna Brezincki and her best friend: Sharon Wenzel.

Jean was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters: George, Marivonne, Janell, Nancy, Neil, Bill, and Sheldon.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 NOON on Saturday February 13, 2016 at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, town of Kossuth. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Jeremy Vance. Cremation has occurred in Florida and Jean will be laid to rest at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.

Jean is now with her husband, Carl who she loved and missed dearly. She loved and collected eagles, she is now soaring with her beloved eagles in the sky.
