Brewer died at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday at Jennings Community Hospital following an extended Illness.
A 1944 graduate of Columbus High School, Brewer retired from cunning Engine Co. He was a World War II Nave veteran, a member of the North Vernon Veterans of Foreign Wars and Columbus American Legion. He also was a member of First Christian Church in North Vernon where he had served as an elder and had worked with Tea Creek Women's softball league.
Born April 26, 1927, in Columbus, Brewer was the son of William and Berth Harris Brewer. He married Jean Mize April 3, 1954, and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Karen Louise Brewer and Bertha Miller, both of North Vernon.
