ROBERT E. DEERING
(1923 - 2016)
Robert E. Deering, age 92, a 9 month resident at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 9, 2016 at the center.
He was born on July 18, 1923 in Green Bay, son of the late Oliver and Catherine (Dahm) Deering. Bobby was a graduate of Two Rivers High School, Class of 1941. On May 14, 1949 he married the former Carol Dupuis at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on June 3, 2006. Bobby was a 41 year employee of Hamilton Industries, Two Rivers, as a finisher in the wood plant retiring in 1987. After his retirement, Bobby and Carol co-owned and operated Clipper City Cab & Delivery Service. He was a former member of the Manitowoc Elks Club and Eagles Club for many years.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Michelle & Steve Hamby, Oshkosh, Cindi & Jack Sprang, Manitowoc, Monique & Steve Lehmann, St. Louis, MO; a daughter-in-law: Renee Deering, Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren: Justin (Lisa) Mushel, Burlington, WI, Mackenzie (Brian) Ellis, Fort Collins, CO., Huston (Amanda) Sprang, Howards Grove, WI, Nicole, Taylor and Natalie Lehmann, St. Louis, MO; three great grandchildren: Reese & Brady Mushel, Brantley Jay Sprang; two step grandchildren: Kristine (Todd) Hamby-Valle, Sharon (Jeff) Hamby-Steward; and seven step great grandchildren: Gio, Josie, Dominic, Katlin, Carter, Ariana and Ella. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by a son: Michael Deering in July of 2014.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Avenue) Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
