Elizabeth "Betty" L. Farrar, 81, of Springfield, died at 3:04 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at her home.
She was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Equality, Ill., to Austin and Geneva (Wargle) Berkel.
She married Gene W. Ziegler on Sept. 17, 1955, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1994.
She later married Earl Farrar in November of 1997.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her husband, Earl Farrar; one daughter, two sons, one stepson, four stepdaughters, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Elizabeth enjoyed flower gardening, playing with her grandchildren, and traveling.
She retired as a secretary for District 186.
Visitation: 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Joshua Traxel officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
