Marcella M. (Anders) Bennington, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Alpha Senior Concepts, Green Bay.

She was born May 2, 1923, in St. Nazianz, the second oldest of seven girls born to the late Paul and Clara (Knier) Anders. On August 26, 1944, she married Martin J. Bennington at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz and moved to California while Martin served in the Army Air Corps. They returned to St. Nazianz and later moved to Manitowoc. Marcy and Marty raised four children. She worked at St. Mary's Home for the Aged in Manitowoc up until the age of 80. Marcy loved to knit and crochet in her spare time, creating many beautiful sweaters, socks, mittens, etc. for her children and grandchildren. She loved to garden and spend time with family, friends and relatives.

Marcy was preceded in death by her husband Marty on December 15, 2006, and later by her daughter, Judy (Bennington) Baker on December 4, 2015.

Marcy will be greatly missed by her children John (Sue) Bennington, Naperville, IL; David (Donald Judge) Bennington, Oakland Park, FL; Daniel (Sharon) Bennington, Green Bay; and son-in-law, Keith Baker, Pulaski. In addition, Marcy is survived by her nine grandchildren, Scott, Brian, Chris, Kevin, Joe, Sarah, Joshua, Kristen and Katelyn, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and two sisters, Sylvia Anders, Franklin, WI; and Agnes Meerstein, Plymouth, WI.

Visitation will be held at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 East Mason Street, Green Bay on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. Funeral service 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Deacon Paul Umentum officiating. Entombment will be at the Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
