Carl George VanDenBerg, 44, of, Springdale died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, in Springdale, AR.
He was a Baptist and a security officer for Northwest Medical Center.
He enjoyed playing and coaching basketball, watching the Arkansas Razorbacks and woodworking.
He loved his wife and children and was always there for those who needed him.
He was born Jan. 12, 1969, in Holland, Mich., to Robert and Alice Schaffer VanDenberg Sr.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark with Todd Anderson officiating under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Wells VanDenBerg of Springdale, AR; his mother, Alice Schaffer VanDenBerg of Altus, AR; one daughter, Abby VanDenBerg of the home; one son, Phillip VanDenBerg of the home; four sisters, Roxie Garner and husband Joe of Altus, AR, Mary Boren and husband Harold of Bella Vista,AR, Elizabeth VanDenBerg of Altus, AR and Judy De Los Santos of Stilwell, OK; and one brother, Robert VanDenBerg Jr. of McFalls, MO.
The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 W. Commercial in Ozark.
Pallbearers will be Kipp Upton, Steve Coody, Spencer Scarbrough, Johnny Baker, Rick Welch and Brent Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Huff, Chris Patterson, Dustin Martindale, Alan Main, Dustin Boren and Robbie VanDenBerg.
