Born on December 6, 1918 to Leo and Edna Moore in Rock Creek, Kansas. She attended a one room school house, via her own pony. She finished her education in Iow a. She enjoyed several careers in government, the furniture industry and banking. Lucille married William Waggoner in Dewitt, Iowa. Later, they moved to California, raising their children in Whittier. She had been a long-time resident of Montclair and member of the Montclair Walkers. She was a loving mother and very active in her children's lives. From a Sunday school teacher to PTA President, she was always her children and grandchildren's biggest supporter. As a true symbol of "America's Greatest Generation," she will be remembered for her strength of character, moral values, commitment, responsibility and loyalty. She never lost her interest in learning new skills and having new adventures. She was a beautiful quilter, seamstress, wood carver, world traveler and enjoyed word puzzles.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Edna Moore, and her husband William Waggoner, brothers, George, Dean and Dale Moore, sisters, Bertina Moore and Ruth Knight; great-granddaughter, Jocee A. Waggoner.
She is survived by her son, John Waggoner and his wife Marcia; daughter, Margot and husband Gary Bachenberg; seven grandchildren and their spouses; 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Her smile, joy, independence and support will be missed by all. Her family would like to thank her doctors, nurses and care givers for all their care and support.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Rose Hills Cemetery, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, California.
