John J. Eckert was the 4th child of Johann Martin and Maria Anna (Heim) Eckert. He was born at House No. 44, Village of Kuhlenfels, near Pegnitz and Pottenstein, Bavaria, West Germany (in the Black Forest). He immigrated to America on the Ship Saale - ARRIVED AT ELLIS ISLAND MARCH 11, 1892 - AGE 15 YEARS 9 MONTHS. He was the husband of Rose J. (Glass) Eckert. They were married May 2, 1898 at the St. Marys Catholic Church, St. Marys, PA. They had 15 children. They celebrated their Silver Wedding Anniversary May 3, 1923 and their Golden Wedding Anniversary May 3, 1948. He was the grandfather of Clifford "Coke" Andrew John Eckert.
