Mr. and Mrs. Raymond A. Eckert of Williamsvile, Erie Co., New York marked their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 27th. The couple attended Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Leo's Church in Ridgway, Pennsylvania. A party followed in the Central Fire Hall. The couple has three sons: Allen Eckert of Emporium, Pennsylvania, Clifford Eckert of Williamsville, New York and Franklin Eckert of St. Mary's, Pennsylvania. The Eckerts also have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

ECKERT.--Raymond A. Eckert, age 83, of 821 South Michael Road, St. Marys, died Saturday at his home following an illness of the past several months. Born February 18, 1910 in St. Marys, he was the son of John J. and Rose J. Glass Eckert. On June 27, 1932 in St. Leo's Church, he married Dorothy G. Bowers; she survives. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Queen of the World Church in 1992. Mr. Eckert attended St. Marys schools and graduated from Central High School. He lived in Williamsville, New York for 27 years and returned to St. Marys in 1991. In 1983 he became the retired owner of Ray's Sweethome Exxon in Amherst, New York. Mr. Eckert was a member of Queen of the World Church in St. Marys, the Holy Name Society of St. Peter and Paul Church and the Friends of the Consolata Mission, both in Williamsville, New York. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Allen "Rocky" Eckert of Kissimmee, FL, Clifford "Coke" Eckert of Escondido, CA, and Franklin "Sonny" Eckert of St. Marys; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Anthony (Mary) Bobenrieth, Mrs. James (Florence) Caskey and Mrs. LeRoy (Frances) Fye, all of St. Marys. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Caroline Grunthaner, Henrietta Diebel, Loretta Wolfe and Emma Rose Distler; and seven brothers, Ferdinand, Vincent, Leander, Herbert, Gerard, Allie and Philip Eckert. A Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond Eckert will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Queen of the World Church. Burial will be in St. Leo's Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, St. Marys. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Community Nurses of Elk and Cameron Counties, 99 Erie Avenue, St. Marys 15857.
