Michael Peffer, one of the oldest residents of North Mahoning township, Indiana county, died at his home near Round Top church on Saturday morning, aged 83 years, 6 months and 19 days. He was born in Butler county and came to the farm where he died when he was but three years old. He was the last of the children of George and Eve Peffer, pioneer settles. He was a member of Covode M. E. church. The deceased was married twice. His first wife, Anna Fleming of Covode died about two years after his marriage, leaving one child, Mrs. Wilbur Rishel of SOuth SIde Punxsutawney. In 1875 he married Emily Jane Bath of Valier, who survives him. There are six surviving children; Isa at home; Maude, a trained nurse in Punxsutawney; Mrs. James Hertzenrater, Covode; Mrs. Harry Jordan, Covode; George and Howard at home.
