Charles W. Wells of Canton died at the Graham hospital Monday evening of last week from burns received when a gasoline blowtorch he was using exploded and set fire to his clothing, burning almost his entire body.

Charles' father (a native of PA) died July 1888, a month after Charles was born in Clyde Town, PA. Charles was the youngest of eight children. His seven siblings were born in Cloud KS, where the family was living as of 1885. His mother remarried to Thomas H. Yocum 1894, who helped raise Charles and his siblings, as well as the two children Thomas Yocum and Sophrinia Wells-Yocum had.
